How to recycle our cans and bottles in New Zealand

Used and empty plastic bottles and cans aren’t done when you are. We can help prevent them becoming waste by recycling them and helping them have another life.

All of our bottles are recyclable. To ensure our bottles and cans can get recycled we encourage people to use their Council kerbside collection and recycling bins while they are out and about.

We are strong supporters of Container Deposit Schemes, which not only enable our bottles to be collected and recycled, but they also give our bottles the best chance of becoming a bottle again. Originally established to reduce litter, container deposit schemes have far-reaching environmental, financial and social benefits. from supporting local charities who raise funds via container refunds, to giving bottles the best chance of becoming another bottle.

Together with our bottling partner, CCEP, we support some of the most effective container return schemes around the world including in Australia. We welcomed the Government’s announcement in 2019 that they were looking at a container return scheme in New Zealand. We remain committed to sharing our expertise and experience to help design an effective and not-for-profit container return scheme in New Zealand.
