Coke Studio® in ANZ with Tones And I, CHAII and Young Franco Collaborating on a New Track
5 April 2024, AUCKLAND, NZ – Coca‑Cola® is bringing real music magic to Australia and New Zealand for the first time by launching its globally renowned Coke Studio® platform. The first season of Coke Studio Australia and New Zealand sees global star and the first female artist ever to hit 3 billion streams, Australian artist Tones And I, join forces with Kiwi artist CHAII and fellow Aussie artist Young Franco to create a brand-new track and music video which will launch later this year.
Coke Studio is a platform designed to facilitate unexpected collisions, which can be anything from bringing artists that are totally different in genre or success together, to come up with something interesting and beautiful while staying true to their authentic selves. To date, it’s sparked a number of high-profile collaborations worldwide, from the Coke Studio global collaboration between Sam Smith, Jessie Reyez and Cat Burns to the musical collision between Imagine Dragons and the Inner-City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles.
Fans will have an access all areas (AAA) pass to experience the journey of the track and music video being made, not only through the socials of all three artists but also through the online updates on the official Coke Studio Hub where they will be able to see the music track and music video being created from start to finish.
“Coke Studio celebrates the power of bringing people together, and we’re thrilled that Tones And I, CHAII and Young Franco will be coming together to launch the first ever Coke Studio ANZ track. What’s more is that with Coke Studio, fans can follow the creative, behind the scenes process of how our artists will be making both the new track and music video”, said Kate Miller, Senior Marketing Director at Coca‑Cola South Pacific. “We know all three artists will put their heart and soul into it and bring fans something unexpected and unique, in a true Coke Studio style. Music fans don’t have long to wait as the track and video launches soon on the Coke Studio Hub and will be available on all music streaming platforms and YouTube.” she added.
Not only is Tones And I collaborating with the two artists for the first time, but this track will be the first time that she works with music video director, Gabe Gasparinatos, a visual designer, Serwah Attafuah, choreographer, Kristen Dodgen, and stylist, Erik Yvon, for a true Coke Studio creative collision.
Tones And I adds: “It's going to be great to work with Young Franco and CHAII as we bring our fans along for the journey at Coke Studio. I think it's sick that Coke Studio celebrates the power of music in bringing people from different backgrounds, cultures, and styles together. I can’t wait to share this creative process with Young Franco and CHAII. It will be a true insight to how we write as individuals and collaborate with one another! To go from nothing to a fully Fledged out track right here on home soil will be an exciting process to share.”
New Zealand artist and producer, CHAII adds: “It’s cool that a platform like Coke Studio can give artists like myself the opportunity to collaborate with others. We all have such different sounds. I’m looking forward to experimenting with our different voices, seeing what works to create a perfect track.”
“To be able to work on a project with Coke Studio and trailblazing forces like Tones And I and CHAII is an incredible adventure that I’m keen to get stuck into”, Aussie artist Young Franco said: “The way that Tones And I has transformed the Australian music industry is inspiring and I’m excited to learn how her and CHAII curate their music and mix my sound with theirs” he added.
On Thursday 4th April, all three collaborators visited UNSW Sydney, where Tones And I delighted d students with a surprise performance, playing a selection of songs.
