Join the cycle this National Recycling Week
Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week (NRW) aims to educate and empower people to do the right thing when they’re at the bin. In 2024, Planet Ark is inviting every Aussies to #jointhecycle.
Most Australians want to do a good job when it comes to recycling. It helps if there’s access to the right information.
Coca‑Cola has teamed up with Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week since 2019 to help Aussies understand how to recycle and to raise awareness of container deposit schemes.
Getting recycling right
It can be confusing to understand what, how and where to recycle.
What: The easiest way to know if a plastic bottle or container can be recycled is to look at the label. All Coca‑Cola bottles are recyclable and we feature a reminder to “recycle me” on our cans and bottles to encourage recycling.
How: The best way to help empty bottles have another life is to use Container Deposit Schemes. CDS locations—ranging from reverse vending machines to staffed depots—accept your used bottles and cans, offering 10 cents in return for each eligible container and ensuring it is recycled. You can choose to keep the 10 cents or donate it to a local charity.
Where: Every state and territory in mainland Australia have a CDS with Tasmania set to launch their own scheme in 2025, meaning there will be container deposit scheme nationwide. To find out more about CDS and locate your local return point,
