Coca‑Cola: Made by Canadians, For Canadians

Since 1906, Coca‑Cola has been proud to produce beverages in Canada. From our first location almost 120 years ago to today, Coca‑Cola products in Canada continue to be made by Canadians, for Canadians.
A proud Canadian history
In January 1906, the first Coca‑Cola Canadian bottling facility opened at 65 Bellwoods Avenue in Toronto. Coca‑Cola was so popular in Canada that in 1908, you could already find our products as far away as Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. Due to the positive response from Canadians, on April 1, 1909, a facility was opened in Montreal and had to relocate to a larger space just a year later. As the popularity of Coca‑Cola grew and consolidated in Central and Eastern Canada, another location was opened in Winnipeg. Coca‑Cola’s success in Canada was unbelievable, and by 1921 the company’s Winnipeg facility was so busy that it out-produced both the company’s Atlanta and Birmingham, Alabama bottling plants combined.
How we operate today
The success of our Canadian facilities continues today. In partnership with family-owned and independent Coke Canada Bottling, we employ over 6,400 Canadians with operations in every province. Our Canadian footprint includes 50 sales and distribution centres and seven manufacturing facilities, operating a nationwide network that is able to serve Canadians in every province and territory.
Our investment in Canadian communities
Coca‑Cola believes in supporting the communities we serve and operate in. We prioritize supporting Canadian suppliers and customers and spend hundreds of millions of dollars annually with thousands of Canadian businesses. We support a broad range of charitable endeavours and community initiatives across Canada, including Junior Achievement, ALUS and Pollution Probe. Our support includes help for communities impacted by natural disasters with immediate relief in partnership with the Canadian Red Cross’ Disaster Response Alliance and for youth in vulnerable communities through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada Emergency Relief Fund.
