Return of the Hunk Celebrating 30 Years of Diet Coke in Australia

31 May 2013, Sydney Australia – To celebrate 30 years in Australia, the iconic Diet Coke Hunk is back to spice up the lives of Aussie Diet Cokedrinkers with an irresistible new marketing campaign.

The hugely successful UK TVC entitled ‘Gardener,’ which got tongues wagging all over the globe will hit Australian screens to give local Diet Coke drinkers a piece of the action. Diet Coke has also enlisted the Hunk for an exclusive promotion for Woolworths customers. 

Playing up the friendly rivalry between Australia and the UK, consumers will be called on to vote for their favourite Hunk. The choice between star of the UK TVC, Hunk Andrew Cooper, or newly recruited Aussie, Hunk Matt Wilson, will see Diet Coke drinkers in with the chance to win a share of $100k cash instantly1.

To enter, consumers need to:

  • go to Woolworths and buy any Diet Coke product
  • enter online at facebook.com/DIETCOKEAustralia  
  • vote for their preferred Diet Coke break companion

The Diet Coke Hunk campaign will run until June 30 through multiple touch points including the rollout of the TVC, cinema, digital, in-store point-of-sale, social media, experiential activations and the exclusive promotion with Woolworths.

The new TVC is sure to get a new generation of pulses racing, with a 21st century take on the revolutionary ads from the ‘90s2. The action features British model, Andrew Cooper, in the role of the 2013 ‘DIET COKE Hunk’, starring alongside a group of fun-loving female friends set in a park. You can view the TVC online, here
